Vladimir Skoda - Czech Republic/France
Is internationally recognized sculptor, who was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia
in 1942 and since 1968 lives in France. After 1991 he lives and works
in both, Czech Republic and France. He finished his studies at the at
the LâEcole des Beaux Arts, in Paris, lived in worked for two years in
Rome on an international scholarship, and returned to France in 1975.
Since then he has been a professor of sculpture at several Art Academies,
such as LâEcole dâArt in Le Havre, Marseille, Strasbourg and Paris. He
had numerous solo shows throughout the world with many catalogues published:
France (Paris, Strasbourg, Marseille, Lyon, Nancy, Besancon, Macon, Montbeliard,
Nimes, Nantes, etc.), Germany (Berlin, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Friedburg,
Munchen, etc.), Belgium (Brussels), Switzerland (Basel), Italy (Rome,
Novara, Pisani), Spain (Barcelona), Czech Republic (Prague, Olomouc),
Poland (Poznan, ), Japan, Korea, etc.

Pavel Makov - Ukraine
was born in 1958 St. Petersburg, Russia, where he attended
the Academy of Fine Arts. From 1979 to 1984 he studied at the Charkov
Art nad Industrial Institue. Solo exhibitions include Tallinn City Art
Gallery, Kiev Soros Center for Contemporary Art, St. Petersburg Museum
of Anna Achmatova, and other international venues. He is a recipient of
1999 “ArtsLink” Fellowship in USA among other numerous international
awards. Makov’s work is included in major world museum collections,
including State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow (Russia), Pushkin Fine Art
Museum Moscow, (Russia), Corcoran Museum of Fine Arts, Washington, DC,
Victoria and Albert Museum London, Contemporary Art and Culture Center,
Osaka, Japan, Naional Art Gallery, Budapest, Hungary, Prague. |

| David Gista - France (now lives in USA)
born and raised in Paris, France, he finished his studies at the “Ecole
des Beaux Arts”. He combines his classical fine arts training with
his conception of modernity, and a running commentary on contemporary
life with oils and acrylics on traditional and bright colored cloth canvas.
By 1993, Gista began exhibiting his work with in Paris and since 1995,
shows at the internationally recognized Darthea Speyer Gallery in Paris.
During that same period he received one of the most important awards for
emerging painters, the “Prix the Vitry,” (Vitry, France),
he participated in a variety of solo and group shows. 1997 held his first
one-man show in the United States at the Gary Marks Gallery and also participated
in a group exhibit at Chicago’s Zolla-Lieberman Gallery. Gista maintains
his global exposure and continues to be represented by Darthea Speyer
and currently also exhibits his work in Hamburg, Germany. He was a guest
speaker/lecturer at Northwestern University and was one of twelve featured
artists as part of Chicago Artist’s Month in 2002, his most recent
solo exhibition was at the University Club of Chicago. |

Anya Belyat-Giunta - Russia (lives in USA)
was born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1975. In 1998, she received a B.F.A
from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In 1996 she was a recipient
of Florence Honours Scholarship which allowed her to study at the Academia
Di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy. In 2000/2002 she attended School of
Fine Arts of Toulouse, France and served as an assistant for the printmaking
department. In 2001 she was a recipient of Charles Oulmont Prize from
the Foundation of France and exhibited at Vert-Gallant Gallery in Paris,
France. She participated in numerous international exhibitions including
12th Tallinn Print Triennial Tallinn, Estonia, IV Art Exhibit and Colloquium
of Graphic Art, Havana, Cuba, Lisboa, Portugal, St Petersburg, Russia,
etc. Recently, she was awarded a 2003 C.A.A.P. Grant from the City of
Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. She will begin her Graduate Study
at Northwestern University in 2003-2004 academic years. |

Kemal Hadzic - Bosnia-Herzegovina
was born and raised in Bosnia (former Yugoslavia). For nearly a decade
Hadzic after finishing his art degree in Art and Education, he was a widely
recognized advisor and mentor to a wide circle of people interested in
photography in Sarajevo. While still teaching, he also actively exhibited
in either solo or group shows in Yugoslavia and abroad. The results of
his success brought him a nomination for the membership in the prestigious
FIAP in 1976. Since 1970 Hadzic had participated in over 100 group shows
in Yugoslavia and abroad (Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Czechoslovakia,
Sweden, former Soviet Union, etc.) and has received numerous awards. With
the beginning of the war in former Yugoslavia, he voluntary joined the
Bosnian forces defending the city of Sarajevo, he stayed in the army until
the end of the war in 1995. Even in the war time he managed to create
a over 6.000 photographs. After the end of the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
he left his homeland and in January 1996 moved to USA, Arizona, as a refugee.
Phoenix becomes his new living and working place, where he continues with
his artistic work. |

Tomislav Nikolic – Macedonia (now lives in France
and USA) was born in Macedonia (former Yugoslavia) in 1937, educated in Belgrade,
Serbia and trained as a restorer of old paintings, and at the same time
studied painting at the Fine Arts Acedemy in Belgrade. He moved to Paris
in 1963 where he continued to paint, in 1969, he came to the United States,
settling in Chicago. Fascinated by the frantic energy and competition he
found in the States, he began to deal with political and social events of
everyday life. Throughout his painting career, he has relentlessly explored
the possibilities and limitations of his medium. While his work of the seventies
is characterized by an expressionist gesture, in the last two decades he
has moved toward an ever more daring combination of paint and collage, which
recalls some of the visual abandon of early Robert Rauschenberg or the irreverent
wit of Sigmar Polke. His recent pieces are always somewhat obscured by seemingly
abstract forms, but the images are, nonetheless |

Margy Stover - USA is a visual artist whose work and
collaborative projects have been exhibited locally in the Chicago area
in established as well as itinerant venues. As an artist/arts educator,
she has extensive experience working with community based arts organizations;
facilitating arts integrated curriculum in Chicago Public Schools; and
has been consultant to school districts, arts organizations, artists,
educators and arts councils in South Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania
as well as Illinois. In Chicago, she has worked with Gallery 37, Chicago
Arts Partnership in Education, Lake View Education and Arts Partnership,
The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust, and Arts at the Center/ Chicago
Teachers’ Center. She is the recipient of several awards including
two Department of Cultural Affairs Community Arts Assistance program grants
and Mark Diamond Research funding. Currently, she is faculty at The Chicago
Academy for the Arts. Her work is in the permanent collection of Pratt
Institute as well as several private collections. She has a BFA from Pratt
Institute and a MFA from SUNY Buffalo. |

Hague Williams - USA
is a fine artist specializing in Printmedia and New-media genres. He received
his MFA in Printmedia from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. An
Undergraduate Research Scholar from UNC - Asheville, he received both a
BA with distinction in Art, and a BA in Multimedia Arts and Sciences. He
has exhibited in Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Chicago, North Carolina, and
performed at Carnegie Hall, New York. Lectures include: University of Kentucky,
Columbia College, Chicago, in the U.S., and the Academy of Fine Arts - Prague,
Czech Republic, the National Art Academy, and American College in Sofia,
Bulgaria. He is represented by Hart-Witzen Gallery, Charlotte, North Carolina,
and Lessedra Art Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria. |
